Cruising in Europe is the way to go when the dollar is low! Cruises are purchased in US dollars; therefore, you do not need to worry about the exchange rate. Your cabin and meals are prepaid, and all shore excursions and other items purchased on your ship are in US dollars.  No fuss, no bother!

This particular Celebrity cruise takes you from Venice to Barcelona via Turkey!  Touring the Mediterranean for fourteen nights brings you to wonderful destinations!

Kusadasi/Ephesus: the ancient, excavated city of Ephesus is where Cleopatra and Marc Antony walked and St. Paul lived and wrote letters.  The famous library remains a central attraction.  Kusadasi is the modern city.

One Virtuoso amenity was a free shore excursion from Kusadasi to Ephesus. A private guide took our group into sites the usual tours miss--and we ended with cheese, fruit, and wine amidst the ruins!

The ancient city of Palermo has much to offer, but don't forget the beautifully preserved ruins out in the countryside, in Erice, high on a hilltop, and Segesta, which have never been restored and so are in their original condition.

The Chagall and Matisse museums in Nice are a must-see.  And the homes along the famous cliff coasts are spectacular!

Barcelona is sparkling clean because of the recent Olympics.  Be sure to view some of the spectacular architecture other than the Gaudi structures, which will try to monopolize your attention!
