Hawaii

Here are a few pictures from Whit and Pam’s trip.  They experienced two islands, Oahu and Kauai.  Honolulu, Pearl Harbor, and the famous Waikiki Beach are on Oahu.

They stayed at the Royal Hawaiian, an historic pink property that is now a very elegant Starwood’s hotel. This is their view from the seventh floor over looking Waikiki Beach.  Diamond Head dominates the beach from on high.  There is much to do on this island, including a visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center, which displays the history of the area’s early inhabitants.

Kauai has the best grand canyon and natural, untouched forest of the islands.  You will want to be on the southern beaches as Pam and Whit were, where the sea is calm.  The island’s resort, Kiahuna Plantation, is perfect for doing nothing . . . or for driving about the island.  Of course in Hawaii you must have a convertible!

As you can see, the scenery here is spectacular.  The Opaeka’s Falls will wash away all thoughts of the mainland.  And taking a boat ride allows you to see Kauai ’s beautiful coast.  The header on this page is the Na Pali coast. Spectacular, n’est pas?
